Willis' diary is interleaved in The North American Calendar, or the Rhode Island Almanack, 1787. The very brief entries refer to the weather (including monthly summaries), prevailing prices of such articles as beef and pork, travels to area towns, deaths and diseases in Kingston, and such daily activities as sleighing and sledding.

Rev. Zephaniah Willis (1757-1847) was born in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.
